Gardening Boots for Oldie Friday1

Hello to Everyone, Friday already my how the time flies.  I hope you are all well and not being hit by this new bit of awful rain. What a howling gale last night and the rain was stotting of our velux window in the bedroom, didn't make for a quiet and peaceful sleep. So far today, it's been sunny and then so dark like an eclips and then a downpour.

Anyway, a day at home and getting on with a bit of housework and a chance to look out an "Oldie" card for Erika's "Oldie" share, I've not managed to play for a while, but I've got one today;
This was a commissioned card for a friend's Grandad and it's a Just Inkedline imageand colourd with Promarkers and a LOTV sentiment. It's a great image for a keen gardener.

Now just before I go, I noticed this on FB and just had to capture it, and it just makes me laugh, I'm totally hooked on this TV drama, and even have the theme tune on my phone, which caused a stir when my phone rang whilst at Choral rehearsal the other week, I had forgotten to switch the phone off, and it felt like ages before I realised it was mine, then found it in order to switch it off, Conductor raised his eyebrows and I had a red face.
Thank you for all the lovely comments on my last card and my new craft space, I bought some fab coloured drawers from Hobbycraft yesterday, and they are super and hold so much, as I said an ongoing process.
Have a super day and a great weekend

Bobble Hat Man!

Hello to Everyone, I hope all is well with you today and you are enjoying your day.
Well, here we are at mid week already, and almost at the end of January, time going so fast, wish it could be slowed down a little.

Dark and dreary today, lights on from mid afternoon, it sort of makes one jus wont to hunker down with  a good book.

Well after 5 years of crafting I have finally got my craft room, Yeah!!! it's in the spare bedroom, we got rid of the bed and I found a sort of desk to work on. It is in fact a dressing table that came from one of the hotels in the town, heavy piece of kit it is too. It means we have our dining table back and the living room looks better having all my stuff away from it. I'll bore you with photos later. It is a work in progress though as I still need to find other storage items, but I'm fair excited that at last I have somewhere to work. I will have to share the room with Alistair as he has his computer there and of course as you all know he is writing his climbing stories,  which reminds me I have a 15 page of A4 to edit for him, I've got to steel myself to do it, not my kind of reading material, call it a labour of love.

I do have a card to share today;
This was the Christmas card I made for Alistair using a stamp fro LC, the paper is from them too. They came along with the LC magazine which is full of great ideas and there is always a free stamp.
The sentiment stamps are from Woodware and I've used SN Alcohol pens to colour the images.

My next photo is of one of the knitting projects I've finished recently;
The Pattern is called "Fisherman's Wife" Cowl, or neck warmer, whatever you want to call it.
Knitted in Super Chunky yarn and size 10 needles. I found 3 buttons in my box that I suited just fine. This was going to be put away for a Christmas gift, but I decided I wanted to wear it, and it is lovely and cosy.

Now here is what I'm really excited about,
Sorry about so many photos today, but I just had to show you. I'm still rearranging and fine tuning, but I guess it's a Forth Road Bridge situation........you're never finished.

So before I go, I just wanted to thank you for all the lovely comments on my last card, and I do appreciate the time it takes everyone in visiting the blogs.

Alistair is on the dinner making tonight so that gives me time to visit you.
Take care and keep cosy,

CCC Sleigh!

Hello Everyone, hope you are all well and enjoying your weekend.

We have rather a nice day up here in the North, s bit of sunshine, although now it's disappearing. Have you noticed that the daylight is getting longer? Spring won't be long.

Thank you all so much for commenting on my last card, I do love reading your comments and you are all very kind in your remarks.

I'm here with the second of our Christmas Card Club challenges and it's the choice of our very own Maureen and she asked to see a card with a sleigh, so I've used one of my favourite stamps from Papermainia and embossed it with gold WOW EP.  I had three go's at this, I'm not all that good with the old embossing powder. Anyway, having finally managed it I mounted it on to red and gold card and then on to an embossed card blank. I've used and Embossialicious Folder. added some red ribbon and red gems and job done. No idea why I just wanted to keep to the red and gold theme, but I rather like it.
I use this stamp every year and it's usually reserved for someone special, and have coloured it in all sorts of colours, this is the first time I've just embossed it.

Just a fairly quick post from me today and now going to schedule this for going live tomorrow when you can see all the other cards made by the other CCC members, where every card will be wonderful, and this time around we have a new member who many of you will know and perhaps even follow, Sandy who does some fabulous work, especially journal pages.

Going now to have a tour around your blogs, so I will see you soon, take care everybody,

Wedding Day!

Hello Crafting Friends, how are you All tonight?? Everyone tickity boo, I hope.

Another cold day for us here, but I was cosy as I didn't set a foot out of doors. I felt like having an at home day as I was awfully tired, so I just pottered around doing little things I've been meaning to get around to for ages.

Alistair was away up a mountain, and came back saying it was a brilliant day out.
So sad about the two climbers killed a few days ago in Glencoe, experienced climbers too. It just goes to show that experience doesn't always matter. However, if you have a passion for climbing as my hubby does, it won't stop them heading to the mountains.

Anyhow, here I am with a wedding card that I made a while ago and never shared. Made from a LOTV Art Pad and cut with and Xcut die, LOTV paper and an Embossilicious embossing folder, card candy and CC wedding day die.

Not an awfully good photo, so sorry about that.

Thank you all so much for your kind comments on my knitting and my two boys on my last post.

That's me for now,  time for a cuppa and a wee bit of knitting, have a lovely evening and see you soon,

Knitted Cushion Cover and Two Handsome Boys!

Hello Everyone and hoping you are a fine and dandy.  Have you got snow?  We had some this morning and a few flutters over the day, but it's come to nothing, but damn cold.

Thank you for all your kind comments on my last card, I know it all takes time to get around all the Blogs you follow so I am very appreciative that you support me so well.

Now, I don't seem to have lost any followers as some of you have, so I guess my Followers are all with Google, it's a pity that some of you have lost people though.

Anyway, today I haven't got a card but some knitting to show;

I started this cushion cover over a year ago, but just couldn't get into it, but finally finished it last night.  It has a woven look made with a slip stitch pattern and the colours are a sort of sage green and mustard, chosen to go along with the plaid chair.  It's an Aran weight yarn made from nettles, and knits up beautifully.  I am so pleased to have it finished and in situ.

I've got a couple of photos of two of my best boys taken on Christmas day;
Alistair wearing his jazz waistcoat. I asked my friend Dale to make him one to wear when he and Stewart go to the Edinburgh Jazz Festival, just left the style and material up to her, and hasn't she done well. Alistair got it for his birthday and just loved it, and thought he would give it an outing for Christmas.

Here is our furry rascal, he wasn't all that impressed by Christmas really, not even by his new mouse toy,

Sorry it's a bit photo heavy today, but I hope you like what you see. That's me for today so I will say cheerio for now and take care of yourselves,

Little Birds and their House!

Hello Everyone, I hope all is well and good with you today. We had quite a good day weather wise and went to Dingwall for a bit of a walk, and then into the town to a super shop that sells wool and lots of other lovely other things, like handbags and shoes. However it was wool I was after and so treated myself to some gorgeous chunky yarn to knit some fabulous cowls, which I hope will be for Christmas gifts.  I need to start now as I'm not a fast knitter.

Thank you all so much for your lovely comments on my last card, I do love reading them and appreciate your time.

I'm not really making cards just now, I have so many in my box and so unless I need to do one for the CCC challenge which as you know is for getting ahead for Christmas, I am using up what I have. We don't have all that many folk we need cards for, and now I'm not at work I have lost my card customers. I want to concentrate more on my other passion which is knitting.

Anyway, I have a little card here that I made sometime last year and has been hiding away in my folder, at least I think I've not shown it;

This is a stamp from Little Claire, it's such a sweet image and coloured with SN pens, it was a thank you card for a friend.

I've got the evening to myself so I am indulging in The Vikings from Amazon Prime.  Absolutely hooked on it, even although I have to turn away at the gory bits, what violent times they were, so I'll pour a little G&T, I've got a lovely spicy one on the go just now, and settle down for the night.

Stay warm and cosy wherever you are and enjoy your evening.

Festive Food for The Christmas Card Club!

Hello to You on this snowy Saturday morning. Hop everyone is well and enjoying your weekend.
I'm taking a break from the decorating to pop on my card for the CCC, which is Festive Food and Margaret's choice.  It's the first one of 2016 and it's never too early to start and saves all the panic nearer to Christmas. If anyone is interesting in joining our merry little band just get in touch with any of the girls and we will tell you how.

I will be scheduling this for tomorrow;
This is the only image I have of festive food and of course you will all recognise that it is from LOTV. Coloured with my new Kuretake Watercolour Paints and some WOS.  Embossialious EF on Crafters Companion Kraft Card, inked around the edges with DI, black card, red seam binding, Card Candy and sentiments from Woodware and Crafters Companion, finishing with a little sparkle, which is not showing up.

Before I go, just wanted to say thanks for all the lovely comments on my last card and to apologise for the flashing signature, which I am about to delete. When I first used it it didn't flash so I don't know what has gone wrong with it, and I've noticed a few of the others I use have started to flash too.

Have a good day and see you soon,

More Mistletoe!

Hello Crafty Folk, how are you today?? We have a right cold day here and our local mountain is plastered with snow, and it may well snow down here tomorrow, so it's wrap up warmly time again.

Thank you all so much for your welcome back and the interest and comments about the latest health issues. Thank you too for the lovely remarks about my card.

Over the holiday I spent time yet again upgrading to Windows 10, all well and good, though it too an age to do it, but again I found that I'd lost my printer.  I did all this a couple of months ago and then uninstalled the upgrade as I couldn't print.What a palaver it was to get it all up and running again, but I did it, although I ended up with a corker of a headache for my trouble, but new drivers installed for the printer and it's good to go.  Alistair keeps saying he does'nt know how I've got the patience to do these techie things.  I don't know either, but I was darned if I was going to buy a new printer, so it was needs must.

Anyway, here is my card share for today;
I've shown a card with this wonderful CB stamp before, but this time it is in different colours.
Spectrum Noir pens, First Edition Papers, Black card and Woodware Sentiment Stamps, a few pearls.

This was made before Christmas to send, I've not really got back into my cards yet, I've been concentrating on my knitting as I've got so many projects on the go but not getting completed.
I did manage a pair of socks for hubby, but for some reason they ended up to big, so unbeknown to me he thought he would boil them as he thought they would shrink, well, he obviously didn't know that it's only pure wool that can do that and this yarn was a mixture, so in the end the socks would have fitted "Bigfoot".  Poor man had to own up then, and the socks went into the bin. A pity, and he didn't want to upset me after the time and effort of knitting them, I just thought it was funny and said thankgoodness for M&S.

Well Folks that's me for today, hoping to get around your blogs after dinner.
I hope yo have a great weekend whatever your plans, we are painting the kitchen and we don't do well working together, different ideas about cleaning up and getting rid of paint mistakes as you go along, I do Alistair doesn't, I'm a preparer, he's not, it will be an interesting couple of days.

Take care and keep cosy,

The Art of Chess!

Hello Everyone and a very Happy New Year to One and All.  I hope you all had a lovely Festive time and are now looking forward to what the new year will bring.

I've had a good old rest from blogging and it was just what I needed, I felt as if my life was being taken over by it and FB too, but I did scroll through my dashboard to see what you were all creating and saw beautiful cards and other projects too. Some of you were really busy.

We had a lovely, lovely time over Christmas and the New Year, spent with Moreen and Damian, then friends at their house to welcome 2016. However, I am glad to get back to normal, whatever that might be.

Thank to everyone who sent us gorgeous cards, I'll have to start a new gallery, and for the fabulous ecards too.

Has anyone made resolutions?, I don't anymore, never kept to them, but one the health front, I have no choice but to do better as I have discovered that I am dairy intolerant, and have too much yeast in my system.  You may remember, those who have been followers for a time that I've had various oscopies, with nothing showing up, good in one way, but not in terms of I was still feeling really unwell. So I decided to go and have some allergy testing done, at my own expense, these things are just not available on the NHS, however, I've been trying to get my head around having no dairy products, and this is so hard as I love butter, have cream in coffee and my morning isn't the same without a bowl of cereal and cold milk. And to compound it all there seams to be yeast in just about everything.  So I might not have been blogging but I've been researching the web in order to find recipes, and substitutes for the things I can't eat.  I think I'm winning though,even through Christmas and I'm beginning to feel better. Of course I have to keep on top of the diabetes too.  Thankfully, dairy intolerance is very common, and there is loads of info, and it's no bad thing scrutinising food labels and being careful about cooking, just takes a little longer to do it all.

Anyway, that's enough about me, on to my card, killing two birds with one stone, so to speak, this is Damian's birthday card and my entry to the Chocolate Baroque Colour Challenge No. 18;

Using CB The Art of Chess Stamp set and coloured with Kuretake Gansai Watercolour paints (got them for Christmas, lucky me!) WOS and some Card Candy in the challenge colours.

So that's my first post of 2016, and I will be getting back into the swing of things again and visiting your blogs.

I'll leave you with a couple of photos of the Choral Society's Carolthon from December, we will find out the amount raised next week when we return for rehearsals;

Can you spot me singing my heart out, I really enjoyed the singing this year.

Take care and see you soon,

  I would like to enter my card into:
