Anything Goes for the Christmas Card Club!

Hi Everyone, hope you are all well and having a great weekend.
I'm scheduling this post for the CCC on Sunday as I am away in Glasgow for a few days and I just know I will not be up to doing it when  we get home.

So, it's the turn of our lovely Sylvie and she has given us an easy challenge and one that everyone likes "Anything Goes", here is what I've done,
Woodware Fun Santa image and coloured with Derwent Coloursoft Pencils, matted on to black card and paper I've had for ages. Stamped a few snowflakes in the background and added lots of glitter to Santa, a little tartan bow and a felt tree.
I just love this image by Hobby Art, I've tried to give a real frosty, misty morning look with shades of grey,blue and pink. Coloured with Derwent Coloursoft Pencils, DI and loads of glitter, ribbon an a snowflake charm, Die'sire sentiment dies, and a few sequins.
Thank you Sylvie for this super challenge, I enjoyed doing it.

I must apologise for the awful photos, I seem to be getting worse at it.

Thank you all so much for your kind comments on my last creation, most appreciated.
Take care and see you soon,
I would like to enter the second card into the http://allsortschallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2016/10/week-387-lets-make-start-on-christmas.html

The Bride and Groom!

Hello to You All, hoping you are all fine and dandy today, sending out kind thoughts to those who are not feeling too well and hope you feel better soon.

Change in the weather for us today, wind and rain and very dull, but the temp has gone up a bit, however, we've had a better Autumn than Summer.

I've had two strange phone calls today from the Dept. HMRC (is that the right way round), anyway, an automated voice, telling me that they have been trying to get in touch with me. The first call I cut off pretty sharpish as I know that if this government body are trying to get in touch with you they will write, this I know as they were trying to get in touch  with me last year, regarding a pension I had taken out decades ago in my former married name. Anyway a few hours later, I had another one and this time I listened a bit longer to hear that I'm to be sued by the said department and to press number 1 on the keypad.  Once again the I cut the call. I am hopping mad at this scam cos that is what it is, I, thankfully am up to speed with these sorts of calls, but not everyone is and hearing that you are to be sued by  HMRC would scare the pants off some folk, especially if you're vulnerable.  These people who perpetrate these scams are just scum as far as I'm concerned, but there seems to be little that can be done about them as they are legion.
BE WARNED, DON'T PRESS ANY BUTTON, BEST TO CUT THE CALL IMMEDIATELY!

So after all that, here is my card for sharing;
LOTV Image and Promarker Coloured, I think the paper is Rose Garden by First Editions. I made this yonks ago and don't know why as I only ever make wedding cards if  someone commissions one, anyway it's a lovely little image and I've always got one in the box if needed.

Well my bags are packed and I'm ready to go, as the song says, but I'm not leaving on a jet plane but, the Gold Bus down to Glasgow for the Hobby Craft Show at the SECC. Going tomorrow and getting excited about our little trip. Alistair is coming along too, but not to the craft fair, but as Jim, is brother lives in Glasgow he will meet up with him. We are going to make it a mini break and we got a good deal on a nice hotel.  Last year I went down to the show and back home all in the one day and it's really too much.......this is another example that one is getting older when you can't take long journeys in a day.
I am meeting up with Rita, some of you lovely folk will know her, and who know there might be others too, we will be there on Friday, so if you see me or Rita give us a shout.

I've got a list made out of what I'm looking for, Imagination Crafts will be a stand I'm heading for, I don't think Inkylicious will be there this time, but Card-io will.  I'm sure there will be lots to see.

So I will be absent for a few days here in Blogland, but will see you for the next CCC share.

Just before I sign off, thank you to everyone who left such lovely comments on my last post, much appreciated, but for now,

Cool Sneakers, a Scarf and a Gift Bag!

Good Afternoon Blogging Friends and Visitors, I hope you are well and enjoying your weekend.
I'm enjoying mine, having a quiet day today, in fact I've not been over the door except to put out washing, not that I expect it to get dry, too cold and no sun, but it's good to have that fresh smell on them.

We were minus 1 this morning, and it got a bit misty, really lovely to look out and see. I'm putting heating on bit by bit, and of course we are only a week away from putting the clocks back. This has been such a quick year.

Thank you for your kind remarks on my oldie card, I really appreciate each and every one of them.
 I've got a wee mixture today;
Isn't this the coolest image, Woodware and coloured with Derwent Coloursoft Pencils, having first heat embossed with CS EP. Papers is from LOTV, and had it for a while so It's more than likely discontinued.
Now this card is for Kerr, who will be 13 soon, he is my dear friend Dale's Grandson, and I think he is just the bees knees. I can hardly believe he is almost this age, I remember holding him when Amanda, his mum brought him home from hospital.

Now a gift for my friend Fiona;
She adores The Snowman so every Christmas I try to make something on that theme. I found  a free pattern on the Internet for a Snowman Scarf, it'll keep her cosy.
A gift bag to put handmade socks in for our friend Simon, I showed the socks in an earlier post.
I gave the bag an Autumn look with some wonderful paper from Sara Davis, a sentiment by Inkylicious and some beautiful leaves I found in Hobby Craft.

So that's me for today, I'm looking forward to having a rest from the Milo as Damian and Moreen are on holiday, it's amazing how much of my time is spent with him. On Friday he was at the vet to have that little op that doggies have to have, so we are hoping that it will help him to calm down a bit.
Take care of yourselves and see you soon,

Christmas Bells for Friday Oldie!

Hello Everyone, my goodness another Friday, whizzing by this week has without a doubt.

I'm running out of oldies and in danger of showing almost newies, but I've found this little charming card.

I think the image is by Just Inkedline Digital stamps, coloured with Promarkers. First Edition paper, not too sure what die this is it may be a Tonic one, and looking at it it's rather lovely so I must look it out.

Now why not join Erika of Snappy Crafts and share one of your older projects, it doesn't have to be cards, just as long as it's hand made and most of all it's just for fun. There are quite a few for us posting our older makes so please join in, it's good to see how our styles have changed over time.

Just a short post and one that I'm scheduling for tomorrow(Friday), so I will love you and leave you and see you all soon, take care,

Seahorse Canvas!

Hello Everyone, I hope you are all well and having a good day.
I've been trying to find time to post all day but kept getting sidetracked, finally I'm here, really don't know where the time goes.

Thank you all so much for your visits and the lovely comments you left on my CCC cards, I'm so pleased you liked them.

It's going to be a short post tonight, not much happening in the Currie household, living quietly and managing to get a few cards made. However my share tonight is yet another canvas, which is my third one and all three will be going on my wall;
Using a fabulous Seahorse stencil from Imagination Crafts, I then coloured it up with Starlights paint. The canvas itself is painted with a mixture of Pebeo Dyna paints and Starlights paint, a few sequins and that's that.

Now, I'm really quite pleased  with it as I'm still a learner with canvas, stencils and Starlights, but I now have a trio of sea themed canvases that will adorn my bedroom wall. I would prefer them to be in the bathroom, but the folk who had the house before us decided to completely tile the bathroom, not something I would do myself, but as it's a big job to change it, I just live with it.

So that's me for now, take care and see you soon,

Sentiments for the CCC!

Hello Everyone, hoping you are all well and having a good weekend. We are having a quiet one, well at least I am, just a bit of chilling and crafting....well knitting really, I've been trying to get a Snowman scarf finished, now I just have to put fringes on it, never done that before, so over o You Tube I'll be going.

Well our wonderful sunny warm weather has finally gone, today it has rained all day, felt strange to have the rain today as it's been so long, I think tomorrow is to be much the same, not good for the washing.

Anyway, time again for the Christmas Card Club ladies to show their creations with the theme chosen by our Carol and it's Sentiment as Focus. A super challenge so thanks for that Carol, here is what I've come up with;
Fabulous Woodware stamp, mind you you'd have to have friends with a sense of humour to send this one.
This is a lovely Crafty Individuals stamp and I've embossed it with WOW Gold EP, I think the paper is Dovecraft, and a lovely piece of ribbon that was in the pack that I'd won from Wendy Spanish Crafter. The little robin die is fro, Die'sire
I have to say I'm chuffed with how this one turned out, Woodware stamp again embossed in white WOW powder and coloured with SN Colourblend pencils. Sue Wilson's beautiful poinsettia stamp inked with DI and cut out, silver thread and gems.

Do visit the other team members as their creations will be fabulous.
I'll be scheduling this post for tomorrow, but just before I go, thank you all so much for your lovely comments on my Oldie yesterday, you are all very kind.

Take care everyone and see you soon

Sleigh Ride Oldie for Friday!

Good Morning Everyone, I've been up since silly o'clock this morning, Teallach though it was great as he got in much earlier than normal and had his breakfast. I've watched the dawn break, but looks as it it's going to be a bit of a dull day, but hey ho what marvellous weather so far for October.

Time for another Oldie, sharing work made at an earlier time on our crafting journey. Just for fun as it's good to see who time has changed what you make and what improvements etc. This all started with Erika of Snappy crafts, and you can share anything that's been hand made.
This little card was made for Damian and Maureen and I'm pretty sure it was the first Christmas card I made for them. obviously you all will recognise the lovely LOTV image and it must be coloured with Promarkers as that would be all I'd have at that time.
That's one thing that's changed in my crafting journey, TOO MUCH STUFF!!, bet you're all the same, and yet still buy more, in fact that will be the case as I'm going down to Glasgow at the end of the month to the big craft show and I have a list of things I hope to find.

Anyhow, do join in with us, it's just for fun and there are quite a few of us who've join in with Erika.

Have a lovely day whatever you plan and see you seen,

Frosty Trees!

Hello to Everyone I hope you are all well and enjoying your day.
Thank you for all your lovely comments and visited, I really do appreciated it as I'm sure like me you are busy. I would have never have believed how busy retirement could have been so busy, but it is, but the good thing is that I can choose what I want to be busy with.

This is just going to be a short post as I'm off soon to see to Milo, and as luck would have it the rain has just started, now this must be the first rain here for a while, there are some lovely big dark clouds. Lots of frost in the garden in the mornings so it's pretty cold.

Here is my card
I've used a beautiful stamp from Chocolate Baroque, Trees, this was one of their AYOS stamps last year. Embossed with WOW EP, then shaded with Teal Memento ink and ink Dusters.
Background is inked with various blue shades of Memento Inks and Ink Dusters, then Winter Bough from Inkylicious embossed with Wow EP, then just a few embellishments.

This is for the CB challenge and here are the colours to follow;
That's me for now, I will be around to look at your lovely creations this evening, I've got a bit of time as Alistair is out at his music group.
I would like to enter my card into the following challenges;

Tulip Cat for Friday Oldie!

Hello Everyone, Friday once again, gosh they come around so quickly don't they. I hope you are all well and enjoying your day.

Thank you all so much for your kind comments on my previous card.

Just a wee quick post today joining in with Erika of Snappy Crafts and you can find her here
for Friday Oldie. This is just a wee bit of fun posting something handmade from a while back, it's good to see how much your crafting style has changed or improved. It doesn't need to be a card, just something handmade, here's what I've looked out;
This is a lovely Little Claire image and it's coloured with Promarkers, not sure how long ago I made this, but one thing I have noticed about my change of style is that I don't use as many embellishments now, main reason is the cost of postage now. I must however begin to use up my stash of WO flowers and little charms.

Anyway, join in if you can there are quite a few of us playing now and it's just for fun.
Off to link up with Erika now, see you all soon,

Poppy Field!

Good Evening to You, I hope all is going well with you and that you've had a lovely day.
The weather once again up here was cracking, warm and sunny, can hardly believe it's October.

Thank you all so much for your kind comments on my underwater themed canvas, you've been very kind.

Alistair and I went to the theatre last night to see The Broons. Now all the Scottish Bloggers will certainly know this very Scottish family to be found in the fun pages of the Sunday Post along with Oor Willie. There is a play doing the rounds and it's well worth going to see if it comes near you, well it is if you're a Broons fan. Joyce Falconer who used to be in River City plays Maw Broon and Paw Broon is played by Paul Riley who plays Winston in Still Game, which is returning to TV tomorrow. Now sorry if all you lovely Englandshire folk haven't a clue what I'm talking about, but it is very funny Scottish comedy.  Anyway, the play had a bit of Scottish music and the audience had a good old singalong.Great way to spend a Wednesday night.

So on to my card;
Another lovely stamp from Hobby Art called Poppy Field and coloured with Colourblend Pencils, First Edition Papers and SB die to mat the image on to, a few pearls and a dragonfly gem. Hobby Art stamps are wonderful to colour.

That's me for now, see you soon, take care of yourselves,

Mermaid Queen!

Hello Everyone, into another week once again. I hope you all had a lovely weekend. Up here in the North of Scotland we had fabulous weather, although very cold in the mornings, but for October it's marvellous.

Teallach and I had a lovely time on our own, and I've been playing with my sewing  machine. Now I had been wondering how to tell Alistair I'd bought one, well I came up with a great plan. When he phoned to let me know what sort of time he expected to be home, he asked me if I'd had a nice time, Oh yes I have, I said, and guess what.... we've got another CAT. I could hear the explosion of words at the other end of the phone, I won't repeat them, so I shouted bye see you later.

I know he would be fairly annoyed by the news, actually there would be no fairly about it, but he could sound of to his pals and get great understanding and comfort from them, and by the time he got home and I said only kidding, I bought a sewing machine, he would be so relieved, that he wouldn't mind at all. Well a sewing machine doesn't ruin carpets and disturbs your sleep.

He arrived home with a face like thunder, but was certainly relieved it wasn't another puss, and was quite interested in my new purchase, especially as he wants me to make a waterproof bag for when he takes his fiddle away on the canoe weekends, so all's well that ends well, as the great bard said.

My make for today is me trying to be all arty and clever, so I don't know what you'll make of it, but here goes;
It's a canvas and as it is for the CB Colour Challenge, all the images are CB stamps from the Mermaid Queen set and one of the AYOS sets Fish, which I cut up individually.
I've used all sorts of mediums, there's Starlight Paint, Pebeo Dyna Paint, Pebeo Textured Gel. Imagination Crafts Shells stencil, Shells, ribbon, hessian, gems, and stuck it all together.
Here is the inspirational photo and colours.
It was fun to make and for once I had everything I needed to hand.

That's me for now, and thank you for all the lovely comments on my Christmas cards. Alistair is on the dinner making tonight, haggis, neeps and tatties, don't you just love when someone else cooks, mind you he'll be in and out with what do I do with this and how long will that take to cook questions, bless him!!

Take care everyone and see you soon.

Festive Birds for the Christmas Card Club!

Hello Everyone, I hope you are well and have enjoyed your day. We had warmth and sunshine..can you believe it, it's the 1st of October???

Well I'm here with the next Challenge for the CCC and this post will be scheduled for tomorrow. I nearly missed the date as somehow I thought it was next Sunday, and if I hadn't seen Lorraine's post I would have been very late indeed. Where has the time gone...ney! where has the year gone??

This time Mrs. A, our lovely Valery wants to see cards with Festive Birds on them, here is what I came up with;
A Cardinal Bird image, digital but not sure where from, water coloured and matted on to card cut with a Tonic die set. Embossilicious Folder, twine and some gems. The sentiment was part of a Candy win from Lorraine, and such a useful sentiment it is.
Now this is a lovely image from Kanban which I've had for ages and not used, as it's a Christmas stamp, I take it the bird is a Robin, but with his back towards the front. Coloured with Pencils this time, decoupaged the holly for a wee bit of dimension.

Always love using bird images so thank you Valery for choosing this them.

On my own with Teallach this weekend, Alistair away for the traditional October Adventure, still while  he is away playing, I was away buying, heee heee.  Bought a sewing machine, been wanting one for a while, like years and I've hummed and hemmed as to whether It would get used, and if I had room for it. Well I eventually worked out that it would and I have. Not an all dancing, singing one, I leave that sort to my friend Dale as she is a sewer, in fact I think she took a mortgage out for hers. This one is a level up from basic, and a Singer. So I'm happy, just trying how to work out" oh but I've had it for ages dear" sort of statement for when the Adventurer gets home. Somehow I don't think it'll work this time.

Do visit the other ladies of the club if you have time and see their lovely cards on this theme.
Thank you all for your visits and your kind comments on my last card.

See you soon, cheerio for now,
